Remaining committed to monthly Rice Aid support for Myittamon under the #NourishHope
Yangon, Myanmar – May 29, 2026 – Since September 2025, The Mary K.Yap Foundation has remained committed to supporting Myittamon through our monthly Rice Aid program under the #NourishHope initiative. What began as a response to an urgent need for food supplies continued month after month through March 2026, reflecting the Foundation’s belief that meaningful support is not only about responding when a need first arises, but also about remaining present as that need continues.
Myittamon has been one of the Foundation’s long – standing program beneficiaries, and our relationship with the home has grown through years of continued support and engagement. As an all-girls orphanage home caring for 74 residents , maintaining a reliable supply of food is an ongoing responsibility. The Foundation’s Rice Aid support has helped provide a consistent monthly supply of rice, contributing to the home’s ability to prepare daily meals for the children.

Food is one of the most basic needs of every child, yet for orphanage homes, meeting that need consistently can place a significant strain on limited resources. The cost of providing meals every day continues regardless of other challenges an orphanage may face. By supporting the home with rice on a regular basis, the Foundation is able to help ease one of those essential responsibilities and allow the caregivers to direct their limited resources toward other needs of the children.
From September 2025 through March 2026, the Foundation continued to follow through on this commitment rather than treating the initial assistance as a one-time contribution. Each monthly delivery represented another reminder to the children and caregivers at Myittamon that their needs matter and that they have not been forgotten.
This continued support is part of the Foundation’s broader #NourishHope initiative, through which we work to address food insecurity among orphanage communities we serve. While the Foundation recognizes that no single program can resolve every challenge an orphanage faces, targeted and sustained assistance can provide meaningful relief where it is needed most.
Our commitment to Myittamon also reflects the spirit behind our Donate to Impact initiatives. We are grateful to our donor community of friends, family, and business partners whose generosity allows us to turn contributions into practical support that reaches children directly. Their continued trust enables the Foundation to respond to urgent needs while building longer-term relationships with the communities we serve.
As this period of monthly Rice Aid support comes to an end in March 2026, we remain grateful for the opportunity to have stood alongside Myittamon throughout these seven months. The journey from September to March has been a reminder that impact is often built through consistency—showing up, following through, and continuing to care. We extend our heartfelt gratitude to Myittamon for its continued partnership and to everyone who has helped make this support possible. Together, we remain committed to nourishing hope, one meal and one child at a time.
