Getting to Know Me:

I am Steve Wagenseller, now based in Kyrgyzstan and currently serving as a Drama Teacher at Bishkek International School. I bring with me a lifetime of global teaching experience and heart-centered service to my role as an Orphanage Ambassador for the Mary K. Yap Foundation. My educational journey has taken me across continents—from Jamaica and Kuwait to Myanmar—where I’ve had the opportunity to teach a wide range of subjects including English, Social Studies, Drama, Video Production, and AP-level courses. My connection to Myanmar runs deep, particularly through my years at Thalun International School and Ayeyarwaddy International School, where I strived to inspire students not only through academics but also through creative expression and critical thinking.

One of my most cherished memories was bringing holiday joy to children in Yangon by dressing as Santa Claus during the Foundation’s Christmas celebration at St. Francis Xavier in Thanlyin—an experience that filled the room with smiles and warmth. My enduring passion for education and the arts naturally aligns with the mission of the Mary K. Yap Foundation to uplift orphaned children. I remain deeply committed to expanding access to quality learning for the most vulnerable, helping them discover confidence, purpose, and joy in every stage of life.
