Getting to Know Me:
I am Jay Edwin, an Australian citizen born in Malaysia, and I have always believed that true purpose comes from serving others. My journey has taken me from Malaysia to London, where I earned my M.B.A from the London Business School, and eventually to Myanmar—a country that has captured my heart. For the past 11 years, I have lived and worked here, dedicating my time to supporting disadvantaged communities and helping the younger generation realize their potential. Myanmar has become more than a place of work for me; it is home, and it is where I give back in every way I can.
I have always believed that small moments can leave lasting impressions, especially for children. As a proud supporter of the First Movie Experience program with the Mary K Yap Foundation, I have had the privilege of bringing orphaned children to experience their very first movie on the big screen. Watching their eyes light up with joy and wonder is something that continues to inspire me deeply. Beyond that, I do my best to sponsor meals, educational programs, and other activities whenever I visit orphanages across Myanmar. To me, these gestures are more than acts of giving—they are opportunities to share hope and remind these children that they are not forgotten.
With my background in economics and my connections within the diplomatic and business communities, I strive to use my voice and network to bridge support for the Foundation’s mission. I believe that every child deserves nourishment, education, and the chance to dream. Through the Mary K Yap Foundation, I am committed to being part of that journey—to help create a future where every orphaned child feels valued, loved, and empowered to shape their own story.
