“A Brighter Future for Children starts with a Global Partnership’s Efforts through education, technology, and global collaboration.”
San Francisco, CA –
San Francisco, CA July 8, 2026 – First Lady Melania Trump has made children’s well-being, education, and opportunities for a brighter future central themes of her public advocacy. As a mother and the First Lady of the United States, she has championed initiatives supporting vulnerable children, particularly those in foster care, while encouraging international cooperation to expand educational opportunities for young people worldwide.
Her commitment was highlighted during the 81st United Nations General Assembly in September 2026, when she welcomed First Spouses and international representatives to advance Fostering the Future Together, a global coalition dedicated to empowering children through technology and education. The initiative expanded to 57 participating nations, bringing together government leaders and private-sector innovators around a shared vision of preparing future generations for an increasingly digital world.
Her message emphasized the importance of collective action, encouraging governments, technology leaders, and educational institutions to work together in creating meaningful opportunities for children, regardless of their backgrounds or circumstances.
Addressing the gathering, First Lady Melania Trump declared:
“When nations speak with one voice, the world listens. Our collective influence is profound.”

Building Global Partnerships for Children’s Education
# A significant milestone was the announcement of new technology partnerships with Adobe, Amazon, Intel, Starlink, Google, and Zoom, demonstrating how international collaboration and private-sector innovation can expand access to digital learning resources. These partnerships reflect the coalition’s broader ambition to equip children with essential technological skills while helping educators embrace emerging learning tools.
Through her Be Best initiative and Fostering the Future program, Mrs. Trump has also advocated for educational scholarships, career development, and greater independence for young people transitioning out of foster care. Her efforts reflect a commitment to helping vulnerable children overcome disadvantages and build more promising futures.
A Shared Vision
The First Lady’s vision of empowering children through technology and education closely aligns with the Mary K. Yap Foundation’s mission to uplift orphaned and underprivileged children in Myanmar. Through its #Road2Digital campaign, the Foundation seeks to bridge the digital divide by expanding access to computers, technology, and essential digital learning opportunities.
Complementing this effort, the Foundation’s #H.S.Diploma initiative supports foundational education and academic preparedness, while #Teach1EachOne encourages volunteer-driven learning, mentorship, and knowledge sharing. Together, these programs reflect a common belief that access to quality education, modern technology, and compassionate guidance can help vulnerable children realize their potential.
The Foundation recognizes the importance of bringing governments, international organizations, technology partners, and grassroots charities together to turn this shared vision into meaningful action. Such collaboration could open new pathways for children in underserved communities, including those living in orphanages across Myanmar.
The Mary K. Yap Foundation is pleased to recognize First Lady Melania Trump in our Individual Spotlight series for her leadership in promoting international cooperation in education, technology, and child welfare. Her Fostering the Future Together initiative reinforces a principle central to our Foundation’s mission: every child deserves the opportunity to learn, grow, and build a brighter future, regardless of where they are born.
